| Corporate Work | |
| Over the last 16 years I have worked on literally dozens of projects, including authoring manuals, intranets, WBT sites, CD-ROM based sales presentations, scripts for synchronous learning sessions, documentation, technical writing, etc. Clients have included BofA, Wachovia, Chase, American Express, GTE, Pepsi, The Hartford, and many others. My goal has always been to teach complex material in a user-friendly fashion, and to convey that material in the most economical manner. The link to the left contains screen captures of some of these projects. Being static, they don't really convey the essence of many of these projects; contact me, and I can give you a complete description of each. The portfolio is a 7 MB PDF file; since it takes about 35 seconds to completely download through a broadband connection, wait about that long before clicking on the links at the bottom of the file. Once it is downloaded, you can save it to your hard drive. The PDF file uses bookmarks for easy access to relevant sections; you can show or hide the bookmarks by pressing the F5 key. |

Perl (storyboard) |
A storyboard I prepared for a Director presentation
on how to teach Perl, from an instructional designer's perspective. |
| This article explains how the judicious use of counter-framing techniques can help increase the transfer of knowledge. | |
| According to New York Law School professor Richard Bernstein in his book Amending America, the New Constitution I published in this book "may well be the most thoughtful and thorough reframing of the Constitution yet attempted." Takes about 15 seconds to download on broadband. | |
| Over 600,000 downloads of this book since 1996. Cited in many college research papers in U.S. Says Excite, "If you've got the time, we've got an online book for you. Barry Krusch examines the 1st Amendment in detail and attempts to put the Supreme Court's revisions of the Constitution into a form the layperson can understand. You should know this stuff." | |
| Macintosh vs.
Windows 3.0 (article) |
Cover story for The Mac Street Journal in March 1991. |
| EasyXML (script) |
I wrote this script for an scenario-driven online course designed to explain how to write about technical topics in the least technical manner possible (for staff consultants at Knowledge Transfer International). |
AUDIO SAMPLES |
I planned the instructional design for 52 Drive2Learn audiobooks, and heavily edited 26 of them. Below are some samples from the final products. |
| Excerpts from the CD Public Speaking. The instructional design for the CD was to anchor all knowledge within the context of a real-world scenario. Note the accessibility of the language, and how it is designed to bring the listener into the subject matter in a very direct manner. | |
| Excerpts from the CD Explosive Kids: Helping Children Manage Their Anger. | |
| Excerpts from the CD NASCAR for Rookie Fans. For this excerpt in particular, note how the style of narration and the style of writing are designed to be completely synchronous with the content. | |
| Excerpts from the CD Your Wedding Your Way. | |
Excerpts from the CD How to Use Human Body Language To Achieve Your Full Potential! |
